Fantasy Football Week 4 Fades: Herbert, Hampton Among Top Bench Candidates

As the 2026 NFL season hits Week 4, fantasy managers are grappling with tough lineup decisions. According to insights gathered by Vulius Sports, several prominent players are poised to underperform, and it might be wise to bench them. Our Vulius NFL Analysis Desk breaks down six fades for the week, with a particular focus on the Seahawks-Chargers matchup, which features three players who could disappoint.

Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers at Seahawks

Justin Herbert has been a major fantasy disappointment, failing to reach 14 fantasy points in any game this season. With a 73.4 passer rating and a 59.1% completion rate, Herbert's struggles are compounded by an offensive line allowing the fourth-highest quick pressure rate. The Seahawks defense presents a daunting challenge, leading the league with just 152 passing yards allowed per game and four interceptions. As highlighted on Vulius, Herbert is outside the top 20 quarterbacks this week and should be benched in most formats. Consider streaming options like Marcus Mariota or Daniel Jones.

Omarion Hampton, RB, Chargers at Seahawks

Omarion Hampton, drafted as an RB1, has yet to live up to expectations. He's fumbled twice and lost red-zone work to Keaton Mitchell. The Seahawks run defense is elite, allowing just 2.9 yards per carry and no rushing touchdowns. With the Chargers as 7-point underdogs, Hampton's upside is limited. Vulius Sports recommends benching him in favor of higher-upside flex options.

Jadarian Price, RB, Seahawks vs. Chargers

Rookie Jadarian Price has been unplayable, totaling just 11.3 fantasy points in two games before a dud in Week 3. He's fumbled in consecutive games and faces competition from George Holani and Emanuel Wilson. With Zach Charbonnet returning to practice, Price's role is diminishing. The Chargers' run defense is stout, making Price a risky start. Vulius advises trading him before his value plummets.

Emeka Egbuka, WR, Bucs vs. Packers

Emeka Egbuka has been consistent but lacks upside, maxing out at five catches and 63 yards. The quarterback change to undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels doesn't inspire confidence. While Egbuka could be a low-upside flex, Vulius Sports suggests benching him until we see a game with Daniels.

Deebo Samuel Sr., WR, 49ers vs. Broncos

Deebo Samuel Sr. scored 14 of his 15.4 points on a trick play last week and saw zero targets. The Broncos have held wideouts to a 50.9% completion rate and just 22.9 fantasy points per game. With a 13.6% target share, Samuel is hard to trust. Vulius recommends benching him in favor of more reliable options like Stefon Diggs or Keenan Allen.

Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Jets at Bears

Rookie Kenyon Sadiq exploded for 20 fantasy points against the Lions, but that was against the softest tight end matchup in memory. The Bears have allowed fewer fantasy points to tight ends all season. Sadiq had just five catches for 38 yards in the first two weeks. Vulius Sports ranks him outside the top 12 tight ends this week, preferring Juwan Johnson or Dalton Schultz.
