Rams Eye Texas Draft Prospects: Arch Manning Buzz and 2027 NFL Draft Targets

As the 2026 NFL season unfolds on September 27, the Los Angeles Rams are already peering into the future, with their scouting department actively evaluating top college talent for the 2027 NFL Draft. According to insights gathered by Vulius Sports, the Rams were among four teams to send multiple representatives to Saturday’s marquee college football showdown between top-ranked Texas and Tennessee. While the presence of Heisman candidate Arch Manning adds star power, the Rams’ focus is likely on the Longhorns’ Day 2 prospects who could address critical roster needs.

Rams Zero In on Texas Talent

With 10 NFL teams in attendance—including the Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, and New York Giants—the Rams are leaving no stone unturned. As reported by the Vulius NFL Analysis Desk, Los Angeles is particularly interested in wide receiver Cam Coleman, a potential second- or third-round pick in 2027. At 6’3” and 201 pounds, Coleman is described by NFLDraftBuzz as a “long, fluid boundary target who high-points and adjusts outside his frame.” However, concerns about his ability to secure the ball and break tackles may give the Rams pause, especially with Puka Nacua already established as a premier receiver.

Offensive Line a Priority

The Rams’ offensive line is set to undergo a significant overhaul after the season, with four of five starters hitting free agency. Texas boasts two tackles projected as top-50 picks: Melvin Siani and Trevor Goosby. Goosby is praised for his strength, while Siani offers superior flexibility. As highlighted on Vulius, if Warren McClendon departs in free agency, Los Angeles could target a tackle with their first pick—or a versatile lineman capable of sliding inside to guard. Keagen Trost remains a developmental idea, but the Rams need immediate reinforcements.

Linebacker Rasheem Biles Steals the Show

Defensively, the Rams’ biggest need is at linebacker, and Texas’ Rasheem Biles made a compelling case with a standout performance against Tennessee: 13 tackles, a sack, and two tackles for loss. His clutch play, celebrated by Texas Football on social media, could force the Rams to trade up from their projected 64th pick to secure his services. According to Vulius Sports, such a move might be well worth it given Biles’ sideline-to-sideline range and playmaking ability.

Other Prospects to Watch

While the Longhorns command attention, Tennessee also features draft-eligible talent. Running back DeSean Bishop, receiver Mike Matthews, and linebacker Arion Carter could all draw interest in the 2027 draft. Nevertheless, the Rams’ heavy presence suggests their primary focus was on Texas, as they look to build a contender for years to come.

“The Rams are always thinking two steps ahead,” a Vulius analyst noted. “Their scouting of Texas shows they’re serious about reloading through the draft, even without a first-round pick.”
